U14s vs Hollands & Blair (KYL)
Our Under 14s hosted Hollands and Blair this weekend at the Charles Ground. This was the 2nd time the teams have met this season, with H&B coming out on top 3-1 on the reverse fixture.
Deal started the game well playing the ball around nicely; Groombridge and Parnell set the standard winning lots of tackles and being vocal in the middle of the park. With the game being quite equal Deal won a throw in deep in the H&B half. Mackenzie-Frazer took a long throw onto Nixon’s head and was then cleared to the edge of the box for Star-Rose to head back into a dangerous area. With H&B winning the next header which fell to Frampton, who took a touch, and fired home with his left foot over the H&B keeper to score in consecutive weeks. With Deal now in the lead they continued to play well, looking for Stennett in the wide areas and winning lots of possession. With the half ticking away H&B won a corner, which Deal failed to cope with, and they equalised to end the half level.
2nd half and a couple of changes; Kalvaitis came on for goalscorer Frampton and Weller coming on for Ingram at LB. Deal looked for their 2nd goal. Parnell, who took a knock, was still working hard, Star-Rose playing really well and Kalvaitis won a lot in midfield with the latter having a shot on target from distance.
Deal kept pushing for this second goal; Strain released Mackenzie-Frazer down the right, where he delivered a great bit of skill to get past the impressive H&B left back, and crossed into the box which Turner-Dauncey just failed to get on the end of. As the half wore on Carley (looking comfortable in the Deal goal) had to parry away a couple of free kicks, calmed the team down well and saw Deal get a well deserved draw against a very good side.

U16s vs Cuxton (KYL)
The under 16s travelled away to Cuxton, in the league, for an early 10:00 kick off. Deal controlled the game from the start; quick flowing football down both wings, with Oscar/Khylian pulling the strings in central midfield.
Deal first goal came from a short corner, from Ellis, to Khylian who turned his man drove into the six yard box squaring to Ollie for a tap in; 1-0. Deal continued to dominate possession and goals flowed throughout the first half...
Ollie rounded the keeper, squared the ball for Ben to tap in; 2-0. Frank broke the back line and found Ollie with a nice low cross for 3-0. Frank sent in a deep cross which was met with a volley from Ellis at the back post; 4-0. Yasis joined the party with a mazey run from the halfway line, taking on the two centre backs and finding the corner of the net; 5-0. Yasis turned provider for the 6th goal, setting up captain Oscar for a calm finish to make it 6. The final action of the half saw Ellis’ back post cross to Oscar who headed back across the keeper, finding Reece who nodded to make it 7-0 at the break.
Deal changed up the team for the 2nd half giving other players time further up the field. Deal dominating possession for another 40 minutes, Cuxton unable get a shot of in the 2nd half. Deal managed to add 4 more to the scoreboard coming from Ollie, Taylor and Ollie again. The final goal of the game came from Yasis that followed in an Oscar header, that beat the keeper hitting the bar and dropping to Yasis 11-0.
FULL TIME: 11-0
U18s vs Whitstable Town (KYL)
Deal began the game slowly, struggling to build any real momentum or maintain a foothold in possession. Although a few half-chances were created, the composure and clarity in the final third just weren’t quite there, preventing Deal from capitalising on promising moments.
Whitstable, meanwhile, looked sharper and more assertive in the opening period. Their pressure eventually told as they took a deserved 1–0 lead, finishing the half with the advantage and the initiative.
The response after the break was immediate and impressive. Deal came out with renewed energy, far more composure on the ball, and began to dictate the tempo of the game. However, against the run of play, Whitstable extended their lead with a well-worked move and a low driven strike from the edge of the box into the bottom corner. 2–0 Whitstable. The setback, instead of deflating the boys, ignited them.
The reaction was outstanding. Deal struck back almost instantly with a brilliantly constructed move down the left-hand side. A dangerous delivery into the box caused problems and the loose ball fell to Alex, who produced a superb volley, smashing it past the keeper to pull the score back to 2–1. With belief restored, Deal pushed relentlessly for the equaliser.
The breakthrough came from the right, with Mekhi delivering an excellent cross towards James. His initial header forced a strong save, but the rebound dropped kindly and James showed great composure to head home at the second attempt. 2–2.
The momentum had fully swung in Deal’s favour, and the boys took full advantage. A well-timed forward run and a clinical finish from James secured his second of the match and completed the comeback, putting Deal 3–2 ahead, a lead they held until the final whistle.
FULL TIME: Whitstable Town U18s 2–3 Deal Town U18s
It wasn’t one of Deal’s most fluent performances, but the resilience, character, and determination shown, especially after going two goals down, was outstanding. A massive three points earned away from home.
Special Mention – Lewis
A heartfelt thank you goes to Lewis, our goalkeeper, who played his final game for the club today. Lewis has been a huge part of this squad, both on and off the pitch, a top lad, a brilliant character in the dressing room, and an absolute pleasure to coach. His attitude, work rate and presence have been invaluable, and everyone at Deal Town wishes him nothing but success in his future journey. Thank you, Lewis. You’ll be missed.
The U13s also beat Dartford 6-0 at Princes Park, in the League Cup.
